Deanna was hired by TWA in 1962 and was based in New York. She is second generation TWA as her uncle was a mechanic for TWA in the 1950's. She flew in the European, Pacific, and Middle Eastern markets during her 30 years with TWA. She also was a line instructor, a Flight Service Manager, and served on commissary and the Ralph Lauren uniform committees.

After retiring she was hired by the local CBS affiliate as Consumer Producer and Web Content Producer. After leaving TV she was hired by the Civic Theater where her started as usher and worked her way up to Chief Usher before retiring. She was also hired by the San Diego Padres as Premium Seat Host in 2004, the year the new ballpark, Petco Park, was opened.

Deanna now spends her time doing Japanese ink painting and designing jewelry.
In 1994 she was one of a group that started the San Diego chapter of Silver Wings. She looks forward to being president of Silver Wings.



JeannetteJEANETTE ZENS-GRANT, Vice President

Jeanette started with TWA on July 4, 1966 and was originally based in MKC. She was also domiciled in SFO, JFK-I, and STL. After being furloughed in 2003, she retired in July, 2004. Jeanette met her husband, Jimmy on an ARAMCO flt. and they were married for seven years.

In 1987, one month after Jeanette was recalled, Jimmy died in a car accident. They have one son, Zach, who works in the movie industry in Los Angeles.

Jeanette has been a co chair of the Phoenix chapter for two years, along with working part time at a Holiday Inn in Fountain Hills, AZ.



ValerieVALERIE ROFFE, Secretary

Valerie began her career with TWA in June 1965 a week after graduating from St. Louis University. She was based in JFK domestic and international and MKC. In 1971 she married her husband, Ken, and began 20 years of moving and travel.

They have lived in New York, Toronto, San Francisco, and Cleveland and presently reside in Westport, CT. She retired from TWA in 1988 to raise their two boys, Peter and Luke.

After three years as a stay at home mom, she was offered a temporary position as a paraprofessional teaching gifted and talented students at the middle school level. Fourteen years later with the experience of a lifetime, she moved up to the high school and now works with a Special Education Program called Study Skills.

Valerie also serves as co-chair of the CT Chapter of Silver Wings. Her older son, Peter, recently married and lives in San Diego working in the sports and entertainment area. Luke is enrolled in a school in Minneapolis to create a portfolio with hopes of entering the world of advertising.



GingerGINGER JONES, Treasurer SWI

Ginger began her flying career November, 1968. Based at JFK she flew domestic and internationally until May, 1975. She retired to be a fulltime mom to her 3 daughters.

She worked as an office manager until 2004, when she retired to do hospital volunteer work and took classes to learn to paint with watercolors, knit and tap dancing.

She recently moved with her husband, Jim to the Poconos of PA. She has 3 stepchildren and thus far has 3 granddaughters.

Anita has served as Vice President of SWI from 1998-2002
and President from 2003-2008. She was based in JFK and SFO during her TWA career which started May 30, 1966.

Her daughter Alison is in 3rd year of residency in Harvard ER Program.
Anita volunteers for various charities in her community and also for 3 yr. old triplet boys, Kai, Luka & Noa since they were born Nov. 2005.
She lives in Aptos, California
